Today I will be embarking on what I hope will lead me to my dream of being a family photographer. I’ve been going back and forth on email with a friend of my cousin’s who wants me to photograph her children. I’m super excited and I hope the weather stays nice through the evening. We’re going to explore one of the beaches that doesn’t get much traffic in the late afternoon and hope for many amazing photos.
I won’t be charging for this session. In fact, I won’t be charging for any sessions for a while. I just want to build a great portfolio, learn more about my camera, and of course figure out this whole photography business.
This will be my 3rd session and I hope to do a few over the summer. A friend of mine has an etsy shop and asked if I would help her with some pictures for her shop. Another friend asked if I’d do head shots for her website. It’s things like this that get me really excited about ‘my new job’ (even though I don’t get paid, yet).
Did I mention that the hubby said that if we got a 4 bedroom house, I could have the extra room for my photography? Totally unexpected that he’d say that (we will be putting our house on the market in the Spring), but totally sweet.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that the sun will shine for us this afternoon! I’ll post pictures as soon as I can.
